My name is Jean-Luc Padley and I am a Marriage and Family Therapist Associate. How does counseling work? In short, counseling capitalizes on our relational nature as human beings to naturally and safely step into the pains and difficulties of life. When we venture to our pains and difficulties with someone else, they become easier to experience and to move through. This provides healing and insight to move forward and resolves various struggles like trauma, depression, relationship difficulties and more. We have an amazing capacity to heal through relationship, which is found both in ancient writings and modern neuroscience.

For those who are interested in the specifics of my approach, I am trained as an Emotionally Focused Therapist as developed by Sue Johnson and Leslie Greenberg. I also have familiarity with Internal Family Systems and Satir and have additional training in Attachment Theory and Developmental psychology. My areas of expertise revolve around relationships, trauma, and parenting and I have experience working in other areas such as depression, anger issues, anxiety, burnout, grief, Borderline Personality Disorder, Men's issues and similar types of struggles.
